Education & Communities
Inspiring youths, engaging people
Education is very much a part of the T'ang Quartet, also the Resident Quartet of Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. As dedicated teachers and chamber musicians, we are passionate about bringing classical music to students, presenting selected works for young audiences. We bring the stage to them in the form of interactive mini-concerts and creative workshops. We now part of the the National Arts Council-Arts Education Programme (NAC-AEP) 2023-2025 Directory to provide all students with access to quality arts education experiences. Our school programme, East Meets West, is specially curated: a delightful and inspiring repertoire of traditional fare and contemporary takes on old faves. The 45-min "mini" concert is also an invaluable opportunity for youths to experience the beauty of classical music from a world-class quartet The T'ang Quartet also embarks on special community projects across ages and strata of society. The ensemble reaches out to the elderly, underprivileged and those living in low-income housing and rehabilitation centres across the nation, extending chamber music to places where it is not usually heard. |
